Slip-and-fall injury leads to seaman filing suit versus employers

While many injuries suffered on cruise ships happened to inexperienced, elderly or distracted travelers, even the most experienced of sailors can slip and fall onboard a boat and receive serious injuries. Such was the case with a seaman aboard an offshore boat this summer, who fell on some slippery steps and is suing his employers for failing to maintain safe conditions.

Peak season for cruise ship viruses is underway

As many people from California and around the country set off for cruises this holiday season, travelers should be aware of the peak season for Norovirus, which runs roughly from December to February. The virus, which causes gastrointestinal illness and manifests itself with symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting, is especially prone to strike cruise ships.
