Such was the case with a seaman aboard an offshore boat this summer, who fell on some slippery steps and is suing his employers for failing to maintain safe conditions.
Peak season for cruise ship viruses is underway
As many people from California and around the country set off for cruises this holiday season, travelers should be aware of the peak season for Norovirus, which runs roughly from December to February. The virus, which causes gastrointestinal illness and manifests itself with symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting, is especially prone to strike cruise ships.
